Income Tax Mistake

Got a Tax Assessment which claimed I owed £1410.10.

Phoned them up, they cheerfully admitted this was their error, it should be £0.10, which they let me off with. I should be grateful I suppose.

Simon and Garfunkel Story

SandG Story

Birthday treat from Jane, Thai meal followed by S & G tribute band at Usher Hall. Spot on performances, “Garfunkel” managed the weird distant stare. Really entertaining.

Sculpture Show

Leona Robert’s work shown at “Chiselled” , RGI Kelly Gallery, Glasgow. Good show. Delays at Waverley didn’t spoil it.

Sparks at the Queen’s Hall

Amazingly good show at the Queen’s Hall Wednesday 20th September. Russell Mael’s voice unchanged since Propaganda came out; the new album is like that. Definitely in the top few concerts I have ever seen.

Gig 48

DMWEBNewleasepic

An unusual gig, on the occasion of my retirement, I thought this would be a good way to say goodbye to colleagues, some of many years standing. Of course, friends and strangers came too, so many off the street that the hiring charge was waived. Being Festival Time helped.

We played two sets separated by my little speech and a small interlude, and this was very successful arrangement, no one had time to get tired. First outing of the Mellotron. Easier than I had anticipated.

Setlist: Pictures of Biggles, Cool, Folder Dressed in Blue, Backroom Boys, From Our Own Correspondent, Jump,  Medley: Poland/ Harmonica.

Speech/Interlude: https://youtu.be/jqAXaubEuEo

This was projected during the speech

Standing In For Love, St Rita, Red Star, The g Factor, It’s Abnormal, Mouse In Love, Selling The Party, encore – A Physical Husband.

Sound – Max – new to us, another consumate professional and the sound on stage was good, the audience said the sound was great out front.

Reception – Again, no low points. Everyone seemed to like everything, From Our Own Correspondent very well received, a long while since we did it and it was very funky.
